Why this site exists
Buying an EV is straightforward. Working out how to charge it at home is not. Most homeowners arrive at the question with no idea whether they have single or three phase power, whether their switchboard has capacity, or why one quote is double another.
We publish plain-language, Melbourne-specific information on those questions — and because we don't sell chargers or perform electrical work, we have no reason to push you towards a more expensive option than your home needs.

What we don't claim
We do not currently operate a vetting or accreditation program, and we will not pretend otherwise. All electrical work in Victoria must be performed by a licensed electrician, and we only refer enquiries to licensed electrical businesses. We always recommend confirming licence details and getting your quote in writing.
